Emmerdale Recap, 19 October 2016

Time to preface this by saying: this recap contains less Robron than you think. As in, absolutely none. I would apologize but this is my journal and I don't care. I recap what I want. *does best Robert Sugden stomp away, finds no scenic woods to sulk in, stomps back and pretends nothing happened* For real, though, this story line might as well be tailored to me (the whole Misery thing is my jam, yo), and I don’t really care about James Barton but I love Emma and think that Gillian Kearney is severely underrated, so there you have it.

I really enjoyed this episode, despite the lack of my favorite power couple. It could have failed, and hard, because let's be honest, it's a ridiculous sl. But Gillian portrays Emma's breakdown so well, with just the right touch of sadness, that you kind of feel sorry for her on top of thinking that she really needs all the therapy. The woman is cracking up, and part of her knows it. It's funny, but in a horrifying way.

And as I said before, Bill Ward is rocking James' terror and confusion. Emma is going more and more crazy and it's only a matter of time before she really loses it and uses that meat cleaver on something other than chickens. He knows it, and his desperation to get the hell out of dodge before that happens felt very real.

Seriously, though, these two are like Timex. They take a licking and keep on ticking. How many times did they each hit their head?

I will probably recap Ashley's bit as well, and then it's on to the stunt and the aftermath. I can't wait. :D

Robert Sugden, Love, and Being Lucky

As it's Sunday and I am finishing out the lazy week by being lazy, I've been whittling my time away by thinking about Rebecca and Robert, and Robert and Aaron.

I still can't believe how far we've come. From "you're nothing to me" to "no one else comes close." From "i hate ya. and there's nothing you can do or say to change that" to "i love you...i never stopped." Rebecca could never compete with that, no matter how loving she thinks their relationship was.
